Mindy Miller

Mindy, a proud Williston native, was born and raised in the heart of this community she calls home. From growing up here to raising her own family in Williston, she has deep roots and strong ties to the people and places that make this town feel like home. She began seeking medical answers in late 2024 after months of uncertainty. Despite numerous doctor visits, specialist referrals, and a long series of scans, it wasn’t until she reached Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota that she received a diagnosis of an extremely rare form of breast cancer known as fibromatosis-like metaplastic carcinoma or FLMC.

This June, Mindy is scheduled to have surgery for a bilateral mastectomy—a choice made after careful discussions with her medical team at the Mayo Clinic. While her treatment path is still being determined, she has already chosen to donate her medical scans and tumor to Mayo Clinic’s research team—contributing to the effort to better understand this rare cancer and work toward a potential cure for others. The proceeds being donated will be used towards Mindy’s medical and travel expenses to continue her care journey in Rochester.

Mindy & her family are incredibly honored and humbled to be the recipients of this year’s Steve Ogurchak Golf Memorial Tournament. The support, love, and generosity shown by this event and the community behind it mean more than words can express. It’s a powerful reminder that no one walks through hardship alone—and that strength truly grows where community thrives.
